Stephen Carey Memorial Cup

The Stephen Carey Memorial Cup is a new pre-season fixture for our friends in the North Northumberland League which has been ratified by the Northumberland Football Association and will take place on Friday 30th August.
The fixture will see the NNFL Champions face the winners of the Bilclough Cup at St James’ Park, Alnwick and will be contested only by teams who will play within the North Northumberland League for the forthcoming season. Therefore should a team that was either the league champions or winners of the Bilclough Cup no longer be registered then the runners up will take their place.
This season that means the fixture will be contested by Red Row Welfare who were runners-up to AFC Newbiggin in Division One, who are now, of course, members of Division Two of the Northern Alliance, and Shilbottle CW who beat Tweedmouth Rangers to secure the Bilclough Cup.
Kick off at St. James’ Park, Alnwick, will be at 6:30pm with the gates opening circa 5:30pm, prices on the gates will be £2 for adults and £1 for concessions with all proceed being split evenly between The Stephen Carey Fund and NFA Benevolent Fund.
Main sponsors for the match are Alnmouth Ex-Servicemen’s Club & Institute.
